The main archery body is the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS). Most archers will join this society once they have completed their beginner's course. The membership fee for most clubs will include the GNAS fee.
Membership of an organisation is important as it provides you with insurance cover while you are shooting.
Other organisations are:
The British Long-Bow Society (BLBS) for those who like to shoot traditional bows.
English Field Archery Association (EFAA) and National Field Archery Society (NFAS) for those who like field archery.
FITA - the International Archery Federation.
